WHAT IS SURGICAL ORTHODONTICS?

  • Sometimes your facial growth and development do not proceed in a normal and harmonious manner.​
  • When this happens, your jaws are not in an anatomically correct position, having a negative effect on your bite, facial symmetry and balance.
  • It can even make eating, speaking, and normal breathing more difficult.
  • Sometimes Orthodontic treatment alone is insufficient to address all the issues caused by improper or disproportionate jaws.
  • Orthognathic surgery, more commonly known as corrective jaw surgery, is sometimes necessary to help address these skeletal and dental irregularities.
